Anglers will find themselves in high heaven in High Country, with large rivers and small streams providing challenging, exciting and abundant fishing. Stocked and wild trout, musky and smallmouth bass are the most prevalent fish, and numerous guides and instruction services take anglers of all levels where they need to go to make a catch. Guides operate on many rivers both in North Carolina and Tennessee, including the Watauga, the South Holsten, the Nolichucky, the New River and the French Broad. Trips are not only entertaining, but scenic as well - guides know where to find some of the purest, most untouched parts of nature. Caving

It is dirty, dark and damp, but people young and old still love descending into the ground with lamps on their heads. Perhaps it's what they're seeing down there: beautiful limestone formations, 37,000 feet of natural underground passages and an unearthed prehistoric stonewall as evidence of Aboriginal people who called the cave home. I'd say it is worth the trip. Plus, caving is a great way to spend a rainy day, and an excuse for the whole family to get shamelessly dirty.
