*SEEKING FEARLESS JUMPERS*
Energy Assistance funds for the elderly fell drastically short this year due to budget restraints. Ashe DSS had dispersed all allotted funds for fuel assistance forcing them to seek alternative resources to assist those in need. All proceeds from this years Polar Plunge will be contributed to DSS to keep those in dire need from living in the cold. Jumpers are encouraged to earn sponsorships to raise money. Donations will also be accepted from those who would like to contribute but choose not to freeze for the reason.

The Polar Plunge is a great opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Ashe Freezin for a Reason by jumping, walking or slowly crawling into the frigid waters of the Ashe County Park Pond. We will be gathering around the parks pond with the rest of the community for some crazy FUNdraising laughs!

The Jumpers will have heated private area(s) to prepare/change in (Costumes are optional). Please come prepared with extra dry and warm clothes, towels, etc! A DJ, music, and EMT will be provided for your comfort and protection. Prizes will be awarded for the Most Money Raised and Best Costume. Please note: That you will have to sign a legal waiver before you jump. All jumpers must be able to swim.

For more information or to register for the plunge contact: Ashe County Parks and Recreation at (336)982-6185.
