 Annual New River Canoe Race – June 2, 2018

​The 37th Annual New River Canoe Race will take place on June 2nd, 9 am.  All proceeds go toward Friends of High Country State Parks’ mission to support 5 local state park areas.

This “family friendly” canoe and kayak race will begin at Zaloo’s Canoes in Jefferson, NC and travel five miles to the Wagoner Road Access of the New River State Park. This route is calm with no white water.

The cost to enter is $15 per person or $25 for a “family float”. Boats can start anytime between 9am-1:30pm. The first 200 registrants will receive a T-Shirt and entry for a door prize. After the race, enjoy food from the taco truck, free music, and activities such as tubing, swimming, hiking, etc. at the New River State Park, Wagoner Access until the 3pm Awards Ceremony.
