2023 Cycle North Carolina “Mountains to Coast” Route dates announced
The twenty-fourth annual Cycle North Carolina “Mountains to Coast” Route ride is scheduled for a Banner Elk to Emerald Isle route, from Sept. 30 – Oct. 7, 2023.
Cycle North Carolina will begin its full-service, cross-state ride on Oct. 1 in Banner Elk (Sept. 30 is a travel and check-in day), and will arrive at Emerald Isle on Oct. 7, with 900 bicyclists expected to participate. Over the course of the week, riders will bike an average of 60 miles per day. Additional overnight stays are planned for the towns of Wilkesboro, Winston-Salem, Mebane, Henderson, Tarboro and Kinston.

JULY 1-2, 2022 — Ashe County’s Christmas in July Festival is returning to Downtown West Jefferson with a new look and footprint for the festival!
An opening ceremony will kick off the festival on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 5 PM followed by an entertainment lineup especially for the Friday evening crowd. Saturday, July 2, 2022, will be a full day of fun for all ages with festival hours of 9AM-5PM.

The Ashe County Christmas Tree Association is an association of family farmers in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains that specialize in growing the Cadillac of Christmas Trees…the Majestic Fraser Fir.
The Fraser Fir is highly prized all around the country because of its aroma, shape, dark green color, excellent needle retention and strong branches capable of carrying heavy ornaments. Learn more about the North Carolina Fraser Fir.
Association members also grow a wide variety of other Christmas tree species, nursery stock, and B & B stock; along with making and shipping wreaths and garland. Other Association members operate Choose & Cut farms or retail Christmas tree lots that families from all over the South visit to get their yearly Christmas tree.
